Appointment of Éric Sansoucy as Chairman of the Board

Press Releases

MONTREAL, May 5, 2023 - The Corporation des propriétaires immobiliers du Québec (CORPIQ) is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Éric Sansoucy as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Appointment of Éric Sansoucy as Chairman of the Board

Mr. Sansoucy succeeds Mrs. Mylene Forest who has been Chairman of the Board for several years. "We would like to extend our warmest and most sincere thanks to her for her dedication and commitment, as she has served on the Board for more than twenty years," said Eric Sansoucy. Ms. Forest will remain active on the Board, as Past Chairman, in support of the new Chairman.

Mr. Sansoucy has been a general contractor, property owner and manager for the past twenty years. He is one of the founders of Espé, a major player in the residential housing sector. He has extensive experience in governance, having served on several boards of directors. In particular, he sat on the boards of the Association professionnelle des designers d'intérieur du Québec (APDIQ) and the Association des professionnels de la construction et de l'habitation du Québec (APCHQ).

Éric Sanscoucy accepts this new mandate as president of CORPIQ with full knowledge of the facts. He understands that he is taking office at a pivotal moment in the evolution of the organization but also in the particular context of the housing crisis that is raging in Quebec: "Everywhere in Quebec, the housing sector is living through a historic moment of housing shortage. The regulatory framework has gradually become more cumbersome to the detriment of the construction of units and the maintenance of the existing housing stock. Given the obvious consequences of our regulations, more than ever, the interests of tenants and landlords are linked. Let's work together, with the legislator, to offer Quebec tenants quality housing, in a financially viable environment for all: the tenant, the landlord and the taxpayer" declares Mr. Sansoucy.

CORPIQ's executive director, Benoit Ste-Marie, is delighted with Mr. Sansoucy's appointment: "For CORPIQ's team of more than 60 employees, collaboration with committed administrators is essential in order to meet the many challenges of the rental sector. Our organization is fortunate to have Éric Sansoucy, a person who has demonstrated exceptional interpersonal skills and great management talent that will allow CORPIQ to play a unifying role in the current economic and social context. Mr. Ste-Marie adds that Mr. Sansoucy will be able to count on the support of a management team dedicated to the organization's mission and to providing a range of services to improve the delivery of the rental sector.
