On November 12, Quebec’s rental real estate community will come together at Hotel Bonaventure Montreal for IMMO 2026. This year, CORPIQ’s flagship event will be held under the theme “Proprios d’ici, piliers de notre économie,” directly building on the report prepared by Aviseo Conseil for CORPIQ.
More than just a theme, it reflects a reality that can now be measured through data: residential rental real estate plays a major role in Quebec’s economy and contributes to the vitality of communities across the province.
A sector with a major impact on Quebec’s economy
The Proprios d’ici, piliers de notre économie report has put numbers to a contribution that is often underestimated. Residential rental real estate generates $32.1 billion in added value annually, representing 5.6% of Quebec’s GDP. Landlords also contribute directly to the local economy through their investments: in 2025 alone, $9.9 billion was invested in major renovations, helping preserve the rental housing stock, maintain the province’s built heritage and support activity in the construction sector.
Behind these figures are thousands of landlords, managers, investors and entrepreneurs who maintain buildings, carry out renovations, create jobs and provide housing in every region of Quebec. This is the reality that IMMO 2026 aims to bring to the forefront.

A program focused on tomorrow’s major challenges
IMMO 2026 will bring together decision-makers, economists, entrepreneurs and industry professionals to take a broader look at today’s challenges and identify key opportunities for action in the years ahead. Among the sessions already announced, Jean Charest will kick off the conference program with a luncheon presentation on the economic and political transformations reshaping the business environment.
The program will then bring the discussion back to the realities of Quebec’s real estate sector. Anne-Louise Chauvette, CORPIQ’s Director of Public Affairs, Government Relations and Communications, will present “The numbers speak: the true weight of Quebec real estate,” directly reflecting the findings of the Proprios d’ici, piliers de notre économie report. Economist Francis Gosselin will provide an analysis of Quebec’s real estate economy amid turbulence and transformation, followed by an update on the multi-residential transaction market presented by PMML.
Succession, financing and entrepreneurship at the heart of the discussions
IMMO 2026 will also look to the future of the sector. One panel will focus on an increasingly important issue: preparing for and successfully managing succession in rental real estate. Asset transfers, business succession and the long-term sustainability of Quebec’s local property ownership model will be at the heart of the discussion.
A second panel, “Construction, renovation and affordability: innovative financing strategies,” will feature Mélanie Robitaille, Karole-Anne Gagnon and Éric Sansoucy among its participants, exploring the conditions needed to continue investing in, building and preserving Quebec’s housing stock. Finally, entrepreneur Luc Poirier will share his experience in a discussion entitled “The equation for success.”

Beyond the conferences and panels, IMMO remains a major gathering place for Quebec’s real estate ecosystem.
